Link building is more a relationship building job than SEO/SEM. Linking analytics, and content publicity is not something new or recently created; its an artform and I been practicing since Web Crawler was the main search engine way before Google existed which gives me the upperhand over any link builder working today.  I've been creating long term linkbuilding strategies, and creating web content for publicity purposes for almost 15 years.

Link Building is probably one of the most important part of any SEO/SEM strategy, and if you get told that "I will get you more links than anyone for a specific price" your already headed in the wrong direction.  To ignore relevancy and proper ranking percentages could make your situation even worse; great care must be taken when choosing links for your site to get the most for what one seeks.
